In our opinion, this Oregon Trail is one of the more beautiful and interesting of all the commemoratives that have come through at one time or another. Made from 1926 through 1939, this coin was made in commemoration of the Oregon Trail and in memory of the pioneers, many of which lie buried along the famous 2,000 mile highway of history. On the front of the coin is a covered wagon being led into the sun by a pioneer with "In God We Trust" along the top edge, and underneath "Oregon Trail Memorial" and the date 1926. The device on the back side is a native american chief superimposed over a map of the United States. This coin has both beautiful original luster and very high relief details. We obtained this coin as part of an estate of high grade coins we purchased at a good price and we are passing the savings along to our customers, this coin is priced well below its book value.
