This 1923 Monroe Doctrine Centennial commemorative half is in uncirculated condition, and over the years has developed some very attractive rainbow colored toning on the front side and along the edges on the back. The California film industry promoted the issue of this coin along with a motion picture exposition held in 1923. The obverse portrays the heads of James Monroe and John Quincy Adams, who were identified with the Monroe Doctrine. On the reverse side is the Westerm hemisphere in forms that suggest two female figures. The back side bears the inscription "Monroe Doctrine Centennnial" "Los Angeles". We only have one available, so please don't order more than one. This item is not included in any promotions that may be in effect from time to time.
