This 1857 Flying Eagle Cent grades above the ANA standards for VF condition and just a little below the XF condition, so we have put a very attractive price on it at just $69.99. The red book value of this coin is $60 in VF and $150 in XF. The details in the beak and face area are very strong and most of the details of the feathers show. The Flying Eagle cent was the first of the U.S. small cents, made only from 1856-1858. These are very scarce today, and highly sought after by collectors. They were made of a copper/nickel compositon, unlike later cents which were mainly copper. This nickel content gives them a distinctive golden/brown color hue. We currently have only one of these in stock, so please don't order more than 1. The purchaser will receive the exact item pictured. Discount promotions do not apply to this item.
